Wedding The Hague

The historic Van Balckeneynde House
at the picturesque canal amid the
old city centre in The Hague.

vAN bALCKENEYNDE vENUE

Welcome to the Van Balckeneynde Venue

The Van Balckeneynde Wedding Venue is the unique and a truly a one-of-a-kind location for your special day. Nothing is more romantic than the joining in marriage in a historical canal house at one of the most beautiful canals of The Hague.

The lime stone façade and Belgian marble stairs give the Van Balckeneynde House an eminent and stately character. Upon entering, it will dawn to you that time has come to a standstill inside this estate: historical chique chambers with authentic stucco ceiling and ornaments. Along with the classical paintings and elegant drapery the building has a regal atmosphere.

The wedding ceremony will unfold in the Salon Blue, also called the Beletage. This chambre captures the essence of the converging weightiness of history with the present elegance of the occassion.  This is further enhanced by the breath taking view on the 17th century English period gardens. An elegant garden wedding is of course also a possibility!

In the presence of your loved ones and accompanied by a marriage officiant you will promise the  'yes, I do' to one another, embarking on a new journey in your relationship.

The Buitenmuseum: three museum houses next to each other, on one of the most beautiful and picturesque canals in The Hague. The house of the 17th century landscape painter Jan van Goyen and his son-in-law Jan Steen, and next to it the house of the painter Paulus Potter (known for “The Bull”).
Their paintings are displayed in museums all over the world, including the
Mauritshuis and the Haags Historisch Museum. But this is the place of origin, here are the houses where they lived and worked and where their paintings originated. The Buitenmuseum: a museum outside the traditional museums.
